Incredible India

Trips, whether they are for work or pleasure, are something I usually look forward to and are mostly a positive experience, as I try to seek out pockets of beauty no matter where I travel. I tried to do the same on my recent work trip to India; however, I always find it tough to travel there due to the constant harassment of my senses and the sadness in my heart for the people who are born into places like this. At the same time, each trip to India has brought me home ever more grateful for the life I have. And I also brought home some nice pictures that I find sharing worthy.

KR Market

The two followers of this blog already know that I’m a big fan of markets, and they’re one of the first things I check out whenever I visit a new city, as they’re a melting pot of local culture. The KR Market and the flower market were no exception and perfectly mirrored Indian culture: loud, colorful, and chaotic. Despite using ISO 400 Kodak UltraMax, I was surprised by some of the results I got in low-light conditions, and I didn’t even have my fast lens on me, so I’ve shot at f/2.4

Pottery Town

Another photogenic go-to spot for photographers visiting Bengaluru is Pottery Town, home to around 40 families who continue the pottery tradition and offer a range of handcrafted ceramic items. Visitors can freely wander through the narrow alleys, peek into people’s workshops—and sometimes even their homes. It’s also possible to purchase items made there or take part in a pottery course.
